This is how Voice Trax West describes their services:
Voiceover Services
“We specialize in all aspects of voiceover work, including recording for TV, radio, and online advertising. We also handle narration, interactive video games, animation, audiobooks, IVR, and ADR projects.
Our studio is equipped with ISDN and Source-Connect, phone patch, Zoom, Skype, or similar platforms to accommodate any type of session. All of our booths are equipped with video capabilities for ADR or referencing on-screen material.
Actor Rates and Policies
Our actor rates for recording are $100 per hour with a half-hour minimum. Session time is booked in 30-minute increments and will be billed in full at the end of the session. Services included in these rates are:
- Simple recording with an engineer. Please note that the assigned engineer may vary based on availability and skill level, which can result in differences in cost.
- Source-Connect
- ipDTL or Source-Connect Now or similar platforms
- Phone Patch and Skype
Very light editing, including the removal of stumbles and pickups to create a complete take, is included. However, more complex editing, combining takes, or preparing the final delivery for the client is not included. Delivered files will be a single consolidated take or split takes, which can be determined during or after the session and must be completed within the booked time. Any additional time needed for editing or uploading will be billed separately.
Files will be delivered via email link through our file service (currently Filemail) or can be uploaded to a preferred service by the actor or their client. The files are always recorded in 24bit/48k WAV format but can be delivered in any required format. Conference calls are permitted with advance notice, and it is recommended that actors obtain client contact information as connection details may change after the session is booked.
The following limitations on our services apply, but are subject to change:
- Use of video for timing or reference is not included.
- Clients are not permitted to be present during recording.
- Printing of scripts or other materials should be prepared by the actor.
Please note that we reserve the right to make changes to these policies at any time.
DIY - Self Recording Booth
We offer a self-recording booth for actors who prefer to record on their own or for private coaching rental. The DIY booth has internal dimensions of 4 feet by 6 feet and features a standing desk with plenty of workspace. Currently, the booth is set up with Pro Tools and Twisted Wave and can accommodate Skype, Source-Connect Now, or ipDTL if needed. Payment for using the self-service booth is required before leaving, unless otherwise noted.
Below are the rates for using the self-service booth:
- Audiobook recording: Please inquire for rates
- 10-hour minimum for audiobook rates
- Invoices will be sent once the book is finished and billed on a net 60 basis
- Engineering assistance is available for $40 per half hour (see disclaimer for details)
- General self-recording: $25/hour
- Source-Connect available upon request: Additional $25/hour
Signatory
In addition to our recording services, we are a SAG-AFTRA union signatory. We are able to process payments for games, toys, narration, and other projects. Certain restrictions apply, so please contact us with any questions about your project. If you are new to working with union actors or considering it for your next project, feel free to get in touch, and we can explain the process to you.”
