Peerspace Review
No lie, Peerspace is my favorite website in Los Angeles. It has thousands of recording studios, photo studios, video spaces, and houses for hourly rental.
I often check Peerspace first when I’m looking for a recording studio to lay down vocals or get out of the house for a while.
If you rent the same space a number of times, I recommend trying to work directly with the host next time. They often want to get paid straight from the artist rather than through Peerspace.
But even though Peerspace is making money on top of the bookings, I don’t mind. It’s fast and convenient to message hosts and get
Pros
- Thousands of locations.
- Affordable creative spaces.
- Available next-day in most cases.
Cons
- The mobile app isn’t great.
- More expensive than booking directly with the host.
Price
Peerspace pricing varies a lot. A studio in the Hollywood Hills with a live band room is going to cost a lot more than a closet studio with a Scarlett 2i2.
A decent space will cost you about $35-50/hr. You can go a lot fancier and go all the way up to $100 or even $200/hr.
