Amp Rehearsal is an affordable music rehearsal studio in North Hollywood ideal for live bands, songwriters, and even vocal and guitar teachers. Studios range from about $25-35/hr and can be booked same day by calling. 2 hour minimum booking.

Amp is well known and liked by local and touring bands. In fact, you’ve probably seen other artists post to social media while they’re rehearsing here!

They have a number of studios of different sizes and for different budgets. Almost all of the studios have drums, amps, and live sound mixers (not digital).

Parking is a bit hard at this location. There’s a parking lot next to the studio, however you’ll need to enter through the alley behind the building. Enter the alley directly behind Pitfire Pizza on Magnolia Blvd. The alley dead-ends into AMP’s parking lot.

Customer Service

Customer service here is great. They have people at the front desk who can help you get checked in to your studio.

If you forget any gear, they’ll let you borrow cables and picks for free.

Drum sticks are available for purchase from a vending machine too.

Policies

  • 24 hour cancelations
  • 2 hour minimum
  • Setup/Teardown must happen in your reserved time.

Noise

Like all studios, noise can be an issue depending on the band next door.

But Amp does a very good job of soundproofing areas where they can. They also separate out bookings so you’re not right next to someone if you don’t have to be.

Many of the rooms don’t have neighbors at all! So it’s unlikely you’ll hear anything.

Although this isn’t a recording studio, if you come at the right time of day, you probably won’t hear much noise.

Equipment

Every room has different gear.

Some rooms have full drum sets while others don’t have anything but a chair and a microphone. Some rooms are for songwriters and others are for 10-piece bands. Check each studio’s listing page for information about the specific gear that’s in each.

🥁
Bring your own drum sticks! There are vending machines with drum sticks available, but they’re expensive.
Studio H is an 11x15 room with a drum kit, guitar amps, and microphones. This room rents for about $20/hr.
